Stuttering therapy designed around your life
Services
Free Consultation
30 minutes | No charge
A brief conversation to learn what brings you to therapy, discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether the practice may be a good fit.
This is not a formal evaluation or therapy session. It is an opportunity to talk through next steps without pressure.
Initial Evaluation
50 minutes | $175
The evaluation is a collaborative conversation about your stuttering history, current communication experiences, priorities, and goals.
We may discuss avoidance, thoughts and emotions related to speaking, previous therapy experiences, and the impact of stuttering on work, school, relationships, and daily life.
The evaluation concludes with individualized recommendations and a plan for therapy when appropriate.
Individual Therapy
50 minutes | $135
Therapy is individualized and may be scheduled weekly or every other week depending on your goals, availability, and stage of treatment.
Sessions may focus on communication participation, avoidance reduction, self-advocacy, difficult speaking situations, thoughts and emotions around communication, education about stuttering, and speech strategies when relevant to your goals.
Therapy may focus on
-
Reducing avoidance
Exploring word switching, delaying, silence, avoidance, and other ways stuttering may limit participation.
-
Speaking more freely
Building greater comfort saying what you want to say, even when stuttering is present.
-
Work and school
Supporting meetings, presentations, interviews, classroom participation, networking, and professional communication.
-
Thoughts and emotions
Examining fear, shame, anticipation, frustration, and beliefs that may shape communication.
-
Self-advocacy
Developing language and confidence to communicate your needs, preferences, and experiences.
-
Speech strategies
Exploring tools for navigating speech tension or difficult moments when those strategies align with your goals.
Therapy is not based on the assumption that you must eliminate stuttering in order to communicate successfully.
